This is a transdisciplinary festival which serves as model and has been successfully tested in Liverpool in 2010. It offers a framework for an inter-divisional exchange, analysis, critic and debate. Without exchange and audience the work is not visible. We enter a small path between the arts and we are asking critical questions about mediation. We open the dialogue between people in movement, as active practitioner or as a more passive consumer.
The motivation for this festival was created by the following sentences. They serve as inspiration and motivate to practice improvisation and open the discussion about it with each other and an audience. • To establish a critical dialogue between artists and audiences about the question “What makes good work?” To start on developing a practice of open, critical and nurturing dialogue between audiences and artists. • To set up links between artists of different disciplines and enable them to share and compare practices and processes of making work and naming it. • To collate a list of questions, complaints and issues artists and audiences have regarding the making, presenting and receiving of work. • To set up a structure that encourages the audience to explore ways of reacting to work. To give them an insight into working processes and provide them with the opportunity to give input. • To create a space for artists to reflect on their personal relationship to feedback, demands and expectations from audiences and collegues. • To find out if a more active and ongoing critical discussion between audiences and artists is wanted and if how to establish structures that enable an ongoing debate. |
